We are very proud of the high level of care we can provide at Anchorstone.
We are dedicated to providing the highest level of care for our residents. We have care staff working 24 hours a day, every day. We have a dedicated training manager who makes sure every member of staff recieves the training they require. We have a very holistic approach to care, thus assuring that every type of need the resident has, is cared for. We have our own Activities Officer, to ensure that every day is interesting for residents and that any previous hobbies are provided for as best as possible.
Each resident will recieve a dedicated and personalised care plan when they arrive. We involve both the residents and their families in this. The plan ensures each resident recieved personalised care.
About the Accommodation
We are registered to provide accommodation for up to 40 residents, male or female, all of which are beyond retirement age. The home has two double bedrooms and 36 single bedrooms, all of which are compliant with the National Care Standards Act 2000.
All rooms have an en-suite shower room, central heating and a 24 hour Call System. Each is furnished with a wardrobe, fitted cupboards, chest of drawer, vanity unit, table, chair and a shaver socket. Telephone points can be installed on request. Residents are encouraged to bring memorabilia to personalise their room, if they wish.
Our Living Areas
There are many communal areas within the Home, including the lounge with large screen television, books, newspapers and audiotapes available for the residents' enjoyment. There is also the quiet room, which is a peaceful room with sofas and chairs. The conversatory is light and airy with beautiful views out into the garden, which is accessible from the conversatory.
The Garden
It is easy to access the Garden from within the property and there is a large area of patio for the Residents to enjoy.
Dining and our Menu
The Dining Room with bright linen and fresh flowers offers a healthy and varied menu, consisting of a main meal and dessert. Special Diets can easily be catered for. All meals are prepared on site using fresh ingredients.
There is also a kitchenette for the use of residents of visitors should they wish to prepare drinks at any time. Residents are offered drinks at all times.
Visiting Services at Anchorstone
A hairdresser visits twice weekly, prividing the services in our own Hairdressing Salon. We also have an occupational therapist who visits weekly, an optician twice a year, an a chiropodist every six weeks. We can also accomodate any other services that a resident may require. The services of a local Dentist, Doctor and Solicitor are all available on request.
Activites
Many activies are available at Anchorstone or can be arranged, such as the Knitting Club, Bingo, Piano playing, Board Games, Books, Newspapers and Gardening. There are also a number of local external events, for which transport can be arranged. We encourage residents to continue their hobbies and we will support this in any way possible.
Visitors
Visitors are welcome at any time of the day. Visitors arriving at mealtimes can be catered for with a little prior notice.
